Body Area Sensor Networks Lab 
Introduction
In this lab, the students are expected to develop a simple body area sensor network capable of detecting body movements. The system includes a programmable mobile phone and an accelerometer sensor which are connected by Bluetooth. During this lab, the students have to develop an algorithm to detect different sorts of body movement using the accelerometer and implement it on a mobile phone. Attention will be given to the algorithm’s ability to detect complex motions and energy consumption.
At the end of the lab, the students should be able to understand and develop software for a network between several platforms (e.g. mobile phone, sensor).
Previous knowledge
- Good knowledge on C/C++
- Basic knowledge on Matlab
- Basic knowledge on signal processing
