Our paper "Griassdi: Mutually Assisted Slotless Neighbor Discovery" and a corresponding demo on slotless neighbor discovery have been accepted at the ACM/IEEE International Conference on Information Processing in Sensor Networks (IPSN) 2017.

Neighbor Discovery in MANETs

Energy-efficient neighbor discovery is an important requirement for long battery runtimes in mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETS), in which all devices are powered by batteries. In particular, neighbor discovery needs to be carried out deterministically within a bounded amount of time, while consuming the fewest amount of energy possible. We have proposed a protocol that achieves high performances in this discipline, which was accepted at IPSN 2017. Unlike most previous protocols, it is not based on a time-slotted paradigm, but applies a slotless, purely-interval-based scheme.

Our staff member Philipp Kindt will present the paper "Griassdi: Mutually Assisted Slotless Neighbor Discovery", which is one of the 19 accepted papers among 104 submissions. In addition, a demo to accompany our paper will be shown, which helps in understanding slotless neighbor discovery.
