Best Paper Award at RTCSA 2017
We are happy to announce that our paper "Effectively Utilizing Elastic Resources in Networked Control Systems" has received the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Embedded and Real-Time Computing Systems and Applications (RTCSA) 2017.
Modern Cyber-Physical Systems waste a lot of computation and communication resources during normal operation in order to provide worst case guarantees on resource availability for safety-critical task such as control applications. Common examples are adding redundancy to data streams or using less efficient, but easier to predict scheduling algorithms. Our paper presents a control algorithm design that can effectively use resources whose availability cannot be guaranteed before they are actually requested, but still provides hard guarantees on worst-case performance. We believe the platform model and control strategy developed in this work will allow more efficient implementations of safety-critical systems while simplifying validation aspects like schedulability analysis.
