The Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur agree to establish a joint Indo-German collaborative research center focusing on intelligent transportation systems. 

The center will initially be located at IIT Kharagpur with a possibility of setting up a counterpart in TUM later. The primary goal of this center is to foster the academic and industrial collaboration between India and Germany. 

On 19/06/2018, the President of TUM Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Wolfgang A. Herrmann and the Dean of sponsored research from IIT Kharagpur Prof. Dr. Pallab Dasgupta signed the Memorandum of Understanding to officially establish this center.
