Abstract:

The aim of this master’s thesis is to develop an event predictive scheduling between an ECU and an intelligent sensor having a LIN bus protocol communication. This problematic attached to the automotive industry has been led in the company IAV in Munich.

The solution chosen to perform this predictive scheduling has been to create a gateway via Simulink and then implement it on a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) system in order to test the solution. In addition of the testing possibility via dSpace, the goal of this gateway is to achieve an error free communication. This thesis first examines the different main bus protocols used in automotive industry such as CAN, LIN and FlexRay and then a comparison of these three systems is presented. Afterward, the focus is put on the gateway. A definition of the gateway concept and some typical applications of it are presented before developing the structure of the gateway simulated in our project. Moreover, explanations concerning the different kinds of gateways are analysed.

In the final section, the characteristics of the created gateway are detailed as well as the implementation on the HiL system. Finally, the correct functionality of the solution was verified on the HiL via the dSPACE Software.
